Foundation Awards More Than $23,500 in Grants for 2020-2021 School Year
From pottery and fitness zones to a CSI lab and e-books grants cover it all
In the midst of a challenging educational environment, the Pine Street School Foundation (PSSF) awarded a total of $23,892 in grants for the 2020-2021 school year.
“We’re excited about these creative grants that enrich and enhance the education of Pine Street School students at all grade levels,” said Dennis Regnier, Pine Street School Principal. “This broad range of grants includes initiatives that positively impact our school’s arts programs, STEAM curriculum, and the social and emotional health of our students.”
The 21 selected projects* for this year’s PSSF grant cycle include:

- Engaging Young Minds: Workstations that Inspire & Equip – Kelli Hardigree & Alicia Fulmer (K)
- Here Ye! Here Ye! – Kayla Jeter (K-2nd grades)
- Rack ‘Em – Susan Woodham (K-4th grades)
- Pine Street Readers…On the Move! – Holly Lawson (1st – 4th grades)
- Successful Second Grade Scientist – Tiffany Anderson (2nd grade)
- Royalty Fee and Materials for the School Play – Jessica King & Susan Woodham (2nd–5th grades)
- Interactive French Fun – Laura Hollar (2nd – 5th grades)
- Here Ye! Here Ye! Read All About It! – Susan Gilstrap (3rd Grade)
- Forensic Files of the Fourth Grade – Reisha Calwell (4th grade)
- Calm, Focused, and Balanced – Lynsey Bullington (4th grade)
- Making Indoor Recess Fun! – Lynsey Bullington (4th grade)
- The Hovercraft Project –Susan Hoffman (5th grade)
- The Art in Science – Susan Hoffman (5th grade)
- Mystery Science – Susan Hoffman (5th grade)
Since its founding in 2009, the Foundation has awarded more than $301,892 through 91 grants which have served over 7,150 students over the past eleven years.
"The Pine Street School Foundation continues to be impressed and inspired by the creativity that our teachers bring forward annually to enhance student learning experiences,” said Dennis Hughes, PSSF President. "We are grateful for the opportunity to recognize teachers through the generous contributions of our donors."
The Pine Street School Foundation raises funds each spring to award for projects that will be implemented the following school year, creating an immediate and direct impact with its resources. The grant application process is open to Pine Street School faculty and staff, and it includes a proposal submission and an interview with the Foundation’s grants committee.
